Blog post: IEM NY

I spent this weekend watching the Intel Extreme Masters NY streams, I enjoyed most of the games, and my favorite was SK gaming, I expected them to win the finals, but they lost 2-0 against Fnatic.

I really liked one of the teamfights in the first game. SK tried to initiate a fight by the river, but they started without Taric and Cass. Shushei managed to split them using one of his barrels and Warwick got killed before anyone else could help him. Then Janna used her ult to split the rest of the team one more time, pushing back Nasus and don't allowing him to help Cait, (who got killed in 3 seconds anyway).

I made the drawings just after the game ended and I couldn't remember exactly how the fight went, or the skins they were using. Also, the next day I found a youtube video of the game,  and it wasn't as spectacular as I thought it was. Still It's my favorite moment of the finals, more than the Urgot ace or Tristana headbutting Anivia's wall.

    Anyways, 3rd place games were more interesting to watch. All of Fnatic games were onesided.

    Fanitic was using their displacement spells to take control of that fight really well.

    I'm against SK Gaming in every match just cause I once played ranked game with 2 of them. That was late night game and they trolled so hard that was too much even for me. I don't like idea of relaxing this way after stressful tournament games, especially when I am in same team...

    Pretty much every team has a huge jerk though. You probably just don't know about every one.

    I'm a fan of the frenchies (aAa/Millenium and Sypher) even though they've been on a slump since season 1.

    Fnatic was soooo incredibly dominant at IEM NY though. No one could touch them! They didn't even lose a game. Their team coordination is simply amazing, especially in team fights.

    @chehob oh yes, I liked that comeback from the French team, when I thought CLG had already won.

    Well the same could be said about Donitas, didn't know which tourney that was, but they wrecked it, by destroying everyone. I think its just a coin toss between the higher tier teams. It all depends on who had the most time to practice. When i heard from the Sypher captain that they only have been practicing for 2 weeks, i was flabbergasted.

    What I want to know is why Janna is always so scantily clad. I mean seriously, for a master of the winds and all, she wears perhaps six square inches of clothing in some of her skins; which I imagine would be more than a tad chilly. Not to mention the fact that it is a battlefield and armor is kinda important.
